Champions League: Barca - Kazan

So obviously Messi's not in the starting eleven. BUT WHY AREN"T THEY PUTTING BOJAN ON!
Pedro and David Villa takes priority. Valencia is having a fantastic season actually, i'm intrested in how they'll be holding up against man united.
Lucky for them Wayne Rooney is injured and unlikely to participate. Actually did i just say lucky for them? Wayne Rooney dont make no difference to the team.
Oh so my local TV boardcast lied to me. It told me the game was at 12:00.
As the TV camera pans across it drops about a foot down as it catches Xavi.
Lets hope history doesn't repeat itself. Kazan beat Barcelona last year at Camp nou.
The game kicks off!
Ever since I started playing PES it's changed my view of the game...
It looks cold in kazan... almost the whole team is in long sleeves. Barcelona, not kazan, who are no doubt used to this weather.
Oh wow the crowd is amazing. This is the first time Rubin has had posession of the ball... the crowd is roaring with great intensity.
Pep Guardiola is in a suit again, this time also in a vest. His usual black tie and white shirt. Why does he dress so formally? why isn't he in a zipped up wind breaker like all the other coaches...
It's been 7 minutes and i'm quite worried.
This game is a little... disorganised. just a bit of a crowded mess...
Pique doing some intimidation tatics... he's taughting them... i like him.
OOOH SHIT Pedro goes for goal but it hits the crossbar!! dammmmiiitt.. leo messi would've just had it in no doubt.
UUHH pedro stop screwing up! he gives the ball away again, rubin on the counter attack.
Oh i just realised, guardiola shaved his head!
ALL of the players are in the Rubin half of the pitch! what!
i need to go to the bathroom but this is just realllly intresting.
Oh Villa's shot goes wide! shammmeee. but it was so powerful. wow.
shit, they should really get bojan on... their shots are getting nowhere!
oh SHIIIT PENALTY TO KAZAN. there was like a pile up in the penalty box...
COME ON VALDEZZZZ SAVE IT SAVE IT.
OHH SHIT 1 - 0. oh what the balls, history is repeating itself.
oh shit valdez was so close to saving it.
oh dear if barcelona don't win this it will just be a crap cherry on the crap sundae that is my day.
i wonder if barcelona gets distracted by the annoying chants by the audience.
free kick, come on xavi! dammit pique. missed oppertunites.
omg barca GET ON WITH IT. stop beating around the bush, smack in the area, and flick it to the back of the net. it all sounds not that hard. probably easier said than done.
end of first half. SHIT.
for the first time since the world cup i've seen why they put pedro in the starting 11 for the final. he's just got this amazing skill.
LEO MESSI IS WARMING UP. omg yes. please.
ahh, david villa fails to score from 30 yards out. get off the pitch for messi or bojan!
omg, barcelona penalty. please. please. i am begging you. please score. anyone score. someone just fucking score. equalize it. save yourselves. search for salvation.
OH YES. BARCELONA 1 - 1. oh.. omg. thank jesus. it was so so close. i thought it didn't go in... oh i'm so thankful.
leo messi is on! lloooooooooooooooovvveeeeeeee. yayyayayayaay goooo leo!
wtf, pique has just stood there for about 30 seconds, no one tackles him. that does say something about how concentrated kazan are on defence.
guardiola has that look... like he's really keeping his cool, but you can tell he's going mad inside, his stare is so intense... it's quite extraordinary.
oh shit kazan has got an amazing keeper. i don't think they would even be level if not for him.
shit kazan free kick. i'm so scared. thank jesus for victor valdez. i wonder what barca is without him. actually pinto isn't bad is he...
Lionel Messi with some crazy running. it's great to see him back. i'm seriously genuinely greatful for his recovery.
Leo Messi misses by a fraction.
20 minutes left.
Messi gets late tackled and he's sitting on a floor appealing for a free kick. he gets it.
come on leo! oooooh just over the crossbar! dammit.
i think barcelona are oblivious to how important it is for them to work on the counter attack. this happend in the hercules game as well. because the oppostion's defence is so tight the only times space is freed up near the goal is when everyone else is unprepared to be there. and then they just have to hit it with speed and accuracy. wake up!
12 minutes. looks like bojan won't get his first champions game of the season afterall.
the connection is weak off the broadcast.
i think the rain is playing a huge part in this game.
macbeth sibya is yellow varded...
there is NO reason why barcelona needs to draw this. they're playing a decent game and absoultely deserve nothing but a win.
having watched villa play the last few weeks i think i've got my interpreation of him.
he's not a player who is limited by the rules. he goes by what he needs to do and if they happen to sit outside the rules then so be it. sometimes he does let his emotions affect his game though.
oh bojan is speaking to the management team. please come on. we need you bojan.
6 minutes left. bojan for villa!
OH MY GOD SO CLOSE FOR KAZAN. THANK GOD. oh pique.... watch where it's going...
EHHHH kazan stop wasting valuable time. GET ON WITH IT.
shit 1 minute left.
it's funny how they refer to dani alves as a fullback.
hahahha pique dives... he's yellow carded. i can't remember the last time i blogged a game that he wasn't yellow carded. good thing the liga doesn't use the double yellow match ban rule.
Shit so close.
FUCK YOU KAZAN. FUCKING. FUCK.
AGAIN!
fuck you kazan, it's always you.
puyol with his shirt off is always more impressive than you think.
okay, that's it from me i think, man united on next.
fuck i'm worried because they have to play copenhagen next and they'd previously beat kazan.
so. i think all in all barcelona had some shit tatics here. in fact, the first half and the second half are mirror images. the penalities, the fouls, the passing... everything. they need to learn from their mistakes.
later on i'll post up their chances of advancing.
until next time then....
